Eliminate cellulite without liposuction!

How? The technique is called Mesotherapy.  Mesotherapy is primarily used in sports medicine or rheumatology and consists of multiple micro injections of drugs under the skin. In aesthetics, it is called or lipolise Lipodissolution and claims to dissolve fat deposits. The only problem is its efficacy has not been demonstrated.

A Korean Experiment emphasizes this problem. It also showed total lack of results. Thirty women underwent injections for 12 weeks. Their weight change was assessed through a CT scan and a radiology exam. However, the results gave no difference! "In fact, these techniques involves thinning the fat cells with no effect on their number", says Dr. Latouche, a plastic surgeon. And, they are always ready to store new fat. He also added that except a possible effect on the appearance of the cellulite, no action is possible on their volumes. In addition, many practitioners use Lipostabil a banned drug in France which is a solution containing phosphatidylcholine. The French Agency for the Safety of Health Products (AFSSAPS) said that it is unsafe and that complications were noted.

Pump up the breasts without implants

A dream that would finally be possible thanks to the laboratory Q-Med and its Macrolane, a hyaluronic acid specially developed to change body shape, including the breasts. But the cost of injections is pricey (between 3500 and 4500 euro’s), and has an effect that lasts a year and a half. Furthermore "the results are not extraordinary because you can not inject very large quantities," notes Dr. Perrogon, physician and president of the AIME (5). Finally AFSSAPS has reservations about the injection of this substance in the breasts, a region known as an area with high prevalence of cancer. "The substance itself may be problematic", says Dr. Latouche. He also adds that it is not known if it is likely to migrate because it is not enclosed in a membrane such as prostheses. "Then how is it that the product is still allowed? In fact, apart from the botulinum toxin, injectables are considered medical devices. They are subject to far lesser drawbacks than drugs. "An injectable product CE mark does not mean it is effective or is inconvenient for the patient," says Muriel Gaudin, a journalist who investigated the phenomenon. Therefore, a rule of wisdom is needed: to wait.

Grow lashes with a brush stroke

Soon you'll forget using the mascara? This is the promise of Latisse, the first treatment for the growth of eyelashes approved by the FDA, the agency for pharmacovigilance in America. The drug originally used in the treatment of glaucoma, has produced this unexpected side effect. This product, like mascara, is used with an applicator. There are side effects like eye inflammation and hyper pigmentation of the eyelids when using the product. However these are reversible. At the end of treatment, cilia resumed their usual appearance, says the manufacturer.
